The Cape Wrath Ultra® is based on the Cape Wrath Trail, which is considered to be the toughest long distance backpacking trail in the UK. It crosses rugged landscapes, genuine wilderness and has great distances between support points. Hikers usually take at least 20 days to complete the trail.
The Cape Wrath Ultra® route will be completed in 8 days and it offers a compelling ultra running challenge. Participants will have none of the complex logistical worries that hikers have when completing the trail normally, with true satellite safety monitoring, emergency medical support, and overnight equipment transported each day with tented accommodation and meals provided at the overnight camps.
The Cape Wrath Ultra® has been referenced many times over as the UK's equivalent to the Marathon des Sables - it truly is one of a kind.
