This race is the boldest of our new Trail Race series. If you want the biggest hills, widest views and the most memorable single-track running, then choose this one! Heading out alongside the River Leven, using the adored Ciaran Path, to eventually see the massive Blackwater Dam ahead, is one of the finest running experiences to be had. After the dam, the route soon kicks up on softer ground. But for a reason: you then access a terrific single-track path that winds behind the three Meall-named hills, and with views to cry for! Unusually, this route then converges to the 10km route, and faster 18km runners will meet the slower 10km runners and spur each other on - a nice touch we think. After crossing the pipe intake at Loch Eilde Mór, it’s firstly the main track then the stunning long descent path down into Kinlochleven, and the final streets to the awaiting finish line!
